The Importance of Having a Positive Attitude

Everyone knows that a positive outlook on life will get you much further than a negative one.  In the modeling industry, which can be filed with criticism and rejection, it is absolutely crucial to STAY POSITIVE and DO NOT give up on your goals and dreams!

Having a great personality will get you more results than trying to turn yourself into that "perfect" model everyone wants to work with.....I'll save you a lot of time and energy...It's just not going to happen.  You will never please everyone in the industry.  Every agency and every client is looking for something different, which is part of the reason the industry continues to operate.  This is definitely a good thing.  This means that no matter how many times you hear the phrase "You're just not what we're looking for" or simply "NO" that there will be many more opportunities still available.  This is not a cookie cutter industry!! People who think it is are simply making up excuses for their lack of commitment or effort.
Now... back to you.... If you are someone that always walks in the room with your head up, a big smile on your face, and a positive attitude.... you have already greatly increased your odds of booking work or linking with an agency.  People are still just people, no matter if they are at the top of the fashion world or not.  People still like NICE, PLEASANT, FRIENDLY people.  Remember, if you get hired, you will have to spend a good number of hours with the client, and they usually avoid working with miserable people.
Does this sound too simple for you to believe? It's not! There have been several times I've attended casting calls and I was not a fit for what the client wanted, however (instead of getting upset or taking this personally) I maintained a great attitude and chatted with the people in charge of the casting and heard this: "You're not a fit for this project, but I have some other work I think you'll be great for!"
Just give it a try...what's the worst that can happen???
GOOD LUCK AND GET TO WORK!!!
