What NOT to Wear to Casting Calls...

There are definitely a list of "DON'Ts" as far as wardrobe goes when you're attending a casting call, weather it be for a runway show, commercial print, on camera work etc etc.  You don't want what you're wearing to overpower what you're doing.  This list should help you avoid some of the major no-no's!

1) NO CRAZY PATTERNS ON CLOTHING!
This means stripes, animal print, geometric patterns....
Why? They just don't show up well on camera and they can add volume ...aka make you look fat.  The camera already adds 10 lbs...don't add more!

2) NO BRIGHT SUPER-SKANKY MAKE UP!
You should NOT show up with your makeup looking like you're ready to hit the strip club.
Why? Because when you wear soooo much make up, the casting director can't tell what you actually look like.  If the role calls for crazy make up..let them handle that later.  They need to see the real you!

3) NO EXCESSIVE AND NOISY JEWELRY!
Jewelry that makes noise is an obvious distraction for both on camera castings and other auditions.
Why?  If they can hear you coming before they see you...it's no good. Take it off.  You should never wear jewelry that's visually distracting either, it will only take away from you and whatever it is you're doing...save it for the club later.

4) NO BAGGY CLOTHING!
It will add weight to you on camera and will not show your true shape.  Form fitted clothing is best for most casting situations.
Why? I think this one explains itself

Now..what DO you wear? I'll go into detail about the proper attire, make up and jewelry in my next blog post! Check back soon for updates and look out for the video to accompany this article!
GOOD LUCK AND GET TO WORK!
